Bonterra Vineyards Signs on to

Hopland, CA, Jan. 16 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/ — Bonterra Vineyards is now a featured partner on the advocacy website where visitors concerned about climate change can enroll as “virtual marchers” and join a march on Washington that culminates on Earth Day, 2006 (April 22).

Founded by Senator John McCain, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Laurie David, the website is a non-political effort to bring Americans together in one place to discuss global warming. By visiting the website and going to the Bonterra Impact Page ( visitors can sign on as marchers and offer their own reasons for supporting a dialogue on climate change.

Bonterra produces wine from organic grapes and is a leader in sustainable business practices. At the winery in Hopland Bonterra uses only renewable energy, including solar, and trucks and tractors run on biodiesel.

“It’s only natural that we support responsible environmental dialogue,” said Bob Blue, winemaker for Bonterra. “We’ve had the million man march, and now, if our friends will join us, perhaps we’ll have the million grape march to keep this important conversation moving forward.”

To date, more than a quarter-million citizens have signed on as marchers, and a broad array of companies and organizations have joined, including Patagonia, the Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation and The Natural Resources Defense Council.
